avid AN IHG Hotel

We only stayed one night. Staff was really helpful. The key to our room was not working at check in and she immediately came up to confirm and moved us to another available room, just a few doors down. The bathroom was stocked with Dove hair and body products. The free breakfast had a nice assortment of options and seemed fresh and well stocked. The AC worked well and kept us nice and cool. The comfort of the beds seems to be a hit or a miss. 3 of us slept like rocks while the 4th of our party struggled with getting comfortable. There is a large local chain convenience store basically in the parking lot and would be a good resource if you needed gas, snacks etc. This hotel is a short drive to Corpus Christi or Port Aransas and is surrounded by many dining and shopping options.

Checked in and was welcomed by the GM, Mr. Patel, who recognized my loyalty status, which was a great touch (received water and points). The hotel was very clean, especially common areas, and the lot was well-maintained. The ice machine worked fine, and the two fresh-grind coffee machines were fantastic—a highlight! I only wish there were more options than just black coffee (mocha/cappuccino). Breakfast had a good selection, but I agree with others: the warm food (eggs, potatoes, sausage) needs more daily variety.

Fantastic customer service and rooms. Breakfast is awesome and having 24hr access to fresh ground coffee and hot tea was amazing. Definitely recommend this hotel and will truly use again without any hesitation.

Great service, good room layout, clean beds. Unfortunately, perhaps due to weak ventilation in the bathroom, there appears to be nontrivial water damage and mildew in the showers and some staining and water damage on the walls and cushioned furniture. Even with fresh Clorox from the staff, this problem is systemic and would be an uphill battle to try to solve with cleaning alone. Staff was attentive, even fixing an issue with the door during my stay and cleaning the room to the best of their ability upon request, but it seems like the wear and tear has caused issues that would require much deeper cleaning and maybe remodeling beyond the scope of regular housekeeping. Overall, great staff, good concept and layout and good and seemingly clean beds. Deeper hygiene and cleanliness seems to be negatively impacted by water damage and has caused an accumulation of grime and stains along the bathroom, surfaces, walls, and cushioned furniture. If you’re super particular about hygiene and cleanliness, perhaps proceed with caution, but I do appreciate the staff’s effort to work with what they got.

Overall had a great experience staying here for the past few weeks. My only complaint and suggestion is to change the breakfast daily. Over the whole 3 weeks I stayed there, they had the EXACT SAME limited breakfast every single day, at least all the times I tried to go, then eventually stopped due to this.

A clean new well kept option in the Portland/Corpus area. Breakfast could use a little daily variety and the shower water pressure could use help. Other than that the staff is excellent and the A/C and beds are excellent no complaints there.

Clean, quiet, well maintained. They surprised me by having a down pillow on the bed when I forgot to bring mine. Great budget hotel.

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The price was very reasonable. The room we stayed in was quite small, but we didn’t need much space. The bed was a wide, comfortable king size, and everything was spotlessly clean — it felt like the hotel had been recently renovated. The TV was large, and there were plenty of toiletry bottles: body wash, shampoo, hand soap, conditioner, body lotion… all from Dove, a brand I like and that’s not among the cheapest. I also really liked the breakfast — there were eggs, roasted potatoes in small chunks, oatmeal, pork patties, a wide variety of breads and pastries, three types of muffins, fruits, muesli, yogurts, coffee, and juice. The coffee machines looked new and served Costa Coffee, which is not something you usually see in hotels at this price point. I was pleasantly surprised. My husband was a little disappointed that there weren’t any waffles at breakfast, but he was still happy because there were plenty of other good options. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and so did the AC. The hallways and elevators were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking lot is large, and we had no issues finding a spot. I also liked the location — close to a movie theater and a few great places to eat, like a steakhouse and a poke bowl restaurant.
